Bride

On November 21, 2010, our 5 year anniversary, Adam proposed to me at Bushkill Falls in Pennsylvania. It is labeled "The Niagara of Pennsylvania". He planned the entire day, full of waterfalls, hiking trails, good weather and a great dinner in Philadelphia! He told me, "I have the entire day planned for us, we are going to have so much fun!" Well he was right, because it ended up being the best day of our lives.

Bushkill Falls is so beautiful! This is the description on their website:

The "Niagara of Pennsylvania", Bushkill Falls is among the Keystone State's most famous scenic attractions. This unique series of eight waterfalls, nestled deep in the wooded Pocono Mountains, is accessible through an excellent network of hiking trails and bridges which afford fabulous views of the falls and the surrounding forest.

If you haven't been there, GO! It is one of the best outdoor activities.

So we arrived at Bushkill Falls after a beautiful 2 hour drive through Pennsylvania, singing along to music as the beautiful scenery was passing by. We bought our admission tickets, grabbed the trail map, and started our adventure through the waterfall hiking trails! We picked to walk the longest trail, which gave us the chance to see all of the waterfalls. We finally approached waterfall number 13 (pictured below) and it was breathtaking! We stood on the bridge, as rushing waters were passing underneath of us, and just took in the view and experience. A few minutes later I said, "Come on lets move on to the next one." He replies, "Let's just wait here for a second, it's so pretty." A few more minutes went by and he turned to me, took both of my hands, and just stared intently into my eyes. I didn't say anything at first because I was thinking...."What is happening here? What is he about to say?" After a few seconds, he started to say something, and then stopped (I'm assuming he was trying to find the perfect words for this perfect moment). Keep in mind, I still had no idea what he was about to say or do. I just thought he was being romantic in the sense of trying to tell me how much he loved me, because it was our anniversary! His eyes started to tear up and he started to shake a little bit....I had never seen Adam act this way. Then it hit me...Is he trying to say what I think he is? Is this the moment I've been dreaming about? No..couldn't be...could it???!!?? At this point my mind is racing and I'm starting to feel nervous myself. I then decide to say, "Adam are you okay? What are you trying to say?" And when I get nervous I start to laugh....haha.

So he pulls himself together and starts off by saying how much I mean to him. Me and Adam's relationship is so strong because we not only love each other, but we truly are best friends. From the second we met we clicked in so many different ways. We share the same views, values, beliefs, religion, life goals and most importantly understanding that we put each other first. All of these areas have helped us to build such a strong relationship over the past 5 years. He continued his proposal speech by touching on all of these areas emphasizing that we were meant to be together forever and how he wants to take the next step in our relationship. Then I went into shock mode. I really did not expect this in any way. I wanted him to propose when he felt ready and when HE knew. Well, he dropped down on one knee and pulled out this beautiful ring box, while saying, "Heather, Will You Marry Me?" The 5 words that every girl dreams about, the most important 5 words that he has ever said to me, the 5 words that make you melt...and nonetheless makes you go into "shock mode". After what seemed like 5 minutes of staring into his eyes, looking at the MOST GORGEOUS RING I have ever seen, stunned, thinking in my head...."Is he serious?" (of course he's serious Heather...SAY YES!!!) I said.....YES!! OF COURSE I WILL MARRY YOU!!

He then smiled and we both laughed, while looking at each other thinking...."We are actually getting married!!" He put the engagement ring on my finger and stood up and gave me, what I consider, the most memorable and meaningful hug followed by me attacking his face with a hundred kisses :-). We were speechless for a few seconds...I was STILL IN SHOCK, and he asks, "Well, what do you think? Do you like the ring?" haha still in shock, all i could respond with was, "Yes! It's beautiful!" He picked the ring out all on his own, with some help from Momma V, and he couldn't have picked out a better one. Shortly after, we made our way to the car and on the walk back through the parking lot, it finally hit me and I started balling my eyes out in pure happiness, joy, and excitement! I had a feeling of euphoria that I had never felt before. The most amazing feeling I had ever felt in my life. The most special and important day in my 24 years of living. And knowing, I get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man I have ever come in contact with, my best friend, my lover, my new fiance, and SOON TO BE HUSBAND!
