After starting our day with Bloody Mary's for breakfast, an afternoon siesta was calling our name. After catching a little shut eye, John told me he had a place in mind for dinner and we had a reservation waiting. Turns out, his friend Dylan recommended Cafe Amelie after walking past the courtyard while in New Orleans just a few months prior to our trip.
Cafe Amelie is nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter. It's absolutely breathtaking! I couldn't have asked for a more perfectly romantic proposal - I'm one lucky gal!
After a fantastic meal in the candle lit courtyard, fountains humming peacefully in the background, our waiter asks if we'd like dessert... Krista's answer is ALWAYS "yes" to dessert! So John, knowing that I would ask for a dessert menu, set it up so the waiter would bring out the photo on the left instead of the menu. I looked up, I looked back down at what I was holding, and could not believe it as John got down on one knee. I think our waiter was more nervous than we were - he wasn't able to snap one picture for us! As you all know by now, I said YES! |
