On our honeymoon, we will discover nature’s sacred paradise! Once an ancient Mayan seaport, this eco-archaeological park is designed to keep us busy all day. We will swim gently through underground rivers, relax in crystal clear lagoons, observe exotic tropical birds, jungle cats and spider monkeys, snorkel in protected inlets or take a siesta in a hammock under the swaying palm trees. We will love the impressive coral reef aquarium, a butterfly pavilion, a tropical orchid green house, special performances in various spots of the park throughout the day and archaeological ruins that remind us that we are walking in the footsteps of a centuries old culture. We will stay for the evening to step back in time with a magical show bursting with color, music and folklore in a spectacular covered amphitheater!

Riviera Maya Snorkeling Adventure Tour

On our honeymoon, we will take the Riviera Maya Snorkeling Adventure Tour and enjoy a “Robinson Crusoe” type day away from the busy beaches and pools of our hotel! We’ll jump into the warm Caribbean waters and swim with colorful tropical fish and the amazing diversity of marine life as we marvel at the coral formations on the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest reef system in the world. Small launches will take us just a short distance from the beach out to the reefs and return back from our snorkeling session so we are not on the water the entire day. Once we are back on shore, we will relax on a private, powder-soft beach as we indulge in a delicious Caribbean barbecue lunch of grilled chicken, local fish and tasty meat tacos served right there on the beach. Later in the afternoon, we will head out for another snorkeling session on the reef. There is also beach volleyball, hammocks, cervezas and tequila to complete a terrific, laid-back day in paradise!

Mayan Xtreme Tour

The Mayan Xtreme Tour from the Riviera Maya will leave us energized with the adrenaline rushes delivered from “zipping” and rappelling 70 feet above the jungle floor! This half day adventure takes us into the unspoiled tropical jungle for a thrilling zip-line circuit with three electric rides totaling 2,525 feet. The rappel station challenges our bravado as we lean out over jungle canopy and “float” back down to earth. Later, we will cool off with a refreshing swim and some snorkeling through an underground cavern with a captivating landscape of astounding rock formations. After all the action, we will relax with lunch sampling regional cuisine and ice cold beverages. This will be the perfect activity for our romantic getaway!

This is a terrific opportunity to visit the area’s best shopping spots! At Lapis, the largest jewelry factory in Latin America, we can find an incredible selection of marvelous designs and an impressive collection of Persian rugs that can be shipped all over the world, and it’s all duty free. Then, we will visit Playa del Carmen, and after a cool welcome drink at Sr. Frogs or Carlos’n Charlie’s, we will browse high-end designer names or grab a Hagen-Daaz ice cream as we stroll along shaded, cobblestone walkways. Next, we will head over to “5th Avenue”, a pedestrian area running parallel to the white sand beaches of Playa Del Carmen. Here we will discover small shops with unique gift ideas, as well as bistros, intimate restaurants and small sidewalk cafes. We will shop, bargain, grab some beach time, relax in a small cafe or mingle at Frogs or Charlie’s! The free time is ours to plan any way we want!

This is, undoubtedly, the most famous of the dolphin discovery programs in the Riviera Maya and can be summarized in two words, action and speed! Two dolphins will welcome us with an affectionate handshake and a kiss on the cheek. Later, they will take us on a speedy ride while we hold on to their fins. The most thrilling moment of this program is during the foot-push when we feel all the strength of our new found friends as they lift us out of the water and push us across the ocean surface by the bottoms of our feet. This is the experience of a lifetime!
